Silk Painting Classes

I enjoy teaching silk painting classes. The classes are great for work team builders or as a fun activity for friends and family. Covid 19 Vaccination & Mask policy for In-person classes. The safety of my students are my priority and as such you will need to provide proof of vaccination.

• Class size: up to 5 people

• Duration: 4 to 5 hours

• Cost: $250 per person

Full hands-on. You will stretch the silk and paint your own creation. All materials will be provided. You will be supplied with the silk, the silk dyes, and other materials for your hand painted silk.

Choose one of these scarf sizes:

• • 15" x 60"

  • 30" x 30"

  • 2 pieces of 20" x 20"

Learn the basics of silk painting and color blending

• Use of salt to create patterns

• Using resist or gutta to create the outline of your design

• Using an antifusant or No-Flow solution for free-hand designs

After the class I will steam, wash and iron your scarf. Your finished scarf will be packaged in a gift box. Shipping and handling is additional. Private and group classes are available.

Preparing for class

• Due to Covid-19 please bring a mask.

• Let me know ahead of time the silk size for your design.

• Bring a full-size drawing on paper of what you may want to paint or I can provide a template for you. You will be tracing the drawing onto the silk.

• Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dye stains on.
